KARIBU TEAM KENYA!

FIRST Global promotes STEM amongst students and youths across the world and encourages them to learn relevant skills they need to make extraordinary discoveries. This year’s theme is providing access to clean water. Teams from across the world unite in the Robotics Olympics to demonstrate how we can harness technology to solve the global water issue.

This year Global minimum had the privilege to mentor the team which is representing Kenya in the FIRST global robotics challenge. Lewis, Sam, David, and Baraka are alumni of the Innovate Kenya program 2016. The four met during the innovation boot camp where they were showcasing their brilliant project ideas. Despite their different experiences they made a great team and worked together towards building their robot which will be competing in the competition at Washington DC starting Monday 17 July. The team is a great inspiration to many of our students and a symbol of hope for the future of STEM in Kenya.

As we cheer our team we continue to urge young people to actively engage in innovation to build solutions to problems in our communities. Let us promote friendship and collaboration in the spirit of making the world a better place through technology!

Team Kenya is excited about their participation in the robotics challenge. They could not leave their close friend, Pigele behind. Not after all they have been through! All the best team Kenya!!
